2022 CCSD Capital Project | Telly Award Entry
Overview
The Cornwall Central School District had been facing challenges in getting their capital projects approved by the community due to lack of transparency and communication. In 2022, the district established a capital reserve fund to save for a new capital project, and they sought the help of Dü GOOD Studio to communicate the importance of the project to the community.
Challenge
Filming in and around schools required a lot of logistical and creative solutions, as privacy concerns prevented the studio from filming every student, teacher, and staff. The studio had to creatively find solutions to make a human connection with the people who would be impacted most by the project while still respecting privacy concerns.
Solution
Dü GOOD Studio produced a six-part video series, including an introductory video and separate videos on the improvements to each school, the athletic facilities, and a final reminder to the community to vote. The videos showcased the improvements the capital project would bring and highlighted the impact it would have on students' everyday lives.
The studio carefully used interviews from the superintendent, community and board members, facilities director, and athletic director to make the videos more relatable to the community. The videos were shared through various social media platforms and received thousands of views.
